On April 15, 2024, Zoom released version 6.0 of the Zoom meeting client. Here are a few key new features:

  • Zoom app is now named Zoom Workplace
  • Updated look and feel, with customizable toolbar within meetings
  • Enhanced lighting control in settings
  • Ability to isolate audio for noisy environments

For more information, full release notes can be found on Zoom’s website.

Older versions falling out of support

Per Zoom’s quarterly lifecycle policy, on May 4, 2024, version 5.15.5 and older of the Zoom app will no longer be supported. Version 5.15.5 was originally released on July 24, 2023, almost one full year ago. As a reminder, it is a best practice to keep your software up to date.
