Discontinuation of TurnItIn AI detection tool availability

In February 2023, TurnItIn (TII) enabled AI detection for all customers as part of a beta testing phase. The tool was made available at no additional cost to all subscribing campuses. This Winter, amidst contract renewal negotiations with the CSU which manages the contract, TII notified campuses that the AI detection feature would be add-on for additional cost and that the free trial period would end June 1, 2024. As such, that feature will no longer be available to SF State users after this date.

What you can expect

After June 1, 2024, Turnitin assignments, both already existing and newly created, will no longer display the AI detection score within the originality report. The regular originality report and all other TII functionality will remain available.
