Zoom Web & Video Conferencing

Academic Technology now provides web and video conference capabilities to San Francisco State University powered by Zoom. Zoom works with Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Blackberry, and Linux. All SF State faculty, staff and students can create Zoom meetings, free of charge.

Do you Zoom? 

Anyone in the world can join a Zoom meeting, but only a host can start or schedule meetings. To host a meeting, use your SF State campus login to sign in to your account. To learn how to get started using Zoom, check out the Getting Started guide.
Here’s how Zoom web and video conferencing can support the SF State community: 

Teaching & Learning

  • Advise students from off campus or remote locations
  • Invite guest speakers from anywhere in the world
  • Schedule virtual office hours and consultations with students
  • Include distance learners in Hybrid, HyFlex and Fully Online courses
  • Record class sessions for student review
  • Enable peer collaboration in virtual break-out rooms
  • Share your screen, whiteboard or applications with students while presenting

Research & Service

  • Share research findings and collaborate with colleagues
  • Carry out one-on-one or group meetings
