Academic Technology offers a range of video production services for academic and institutional purposes, including instructional videos, research profiles, informational spotlights, and department and college overviews.
Our video production team can help you create polished and professional videos for your academic needs. Our experts will work closely with you through every step of the production process. We work collaboratively with you to conceive, plan, record, and edit your video project. We are located in the Leonard Library in room 240. There we have a full studio where we often stage video shoots. In the studio we can optimize the lighting, record audio, and even record video footage using a green screen backdrop.
You can find a wide range of videos produced by our video production team on the official SF State YouTube channel which is managed and curated by Academic Technology.
The first step in a video production project is a one-on-one consultation with our videographer. Together you will discuss your goals and create a vision of the video. Next, our video production team will work with you to create a simple storyboard or script. Then comes the video shoot which is often the most exciting part of the process. We will work with you to coordinate a video shoot whether it is out in the field or in our production studio. Once the major footage has been recorded we move into the post-production phase. Here our videographers will put together the finished video. During post-production elements such as music, sound effects, transitions, titles, and animations can be added. Once the video is finished Academic Technology can continue to support you in publishing the video to your iLearn course.
We support projects directly related to instruction, research, or academic programming free of charge. However our team may also take on other projects for a fee, based on availability. Our video production team is here to support you.
