While Academic Technology's Media Distribution center is primarily focused on lending out support and services to the faculty at the university, we also do everything possible to accomodate student needs. Both equipment services and media are available to students for use in academic settings and with the consent and support of their faculty member. See below for more details.
Students may check out equipment from AT through their instructor. All reservation procedures and forms must be completed and signed by the faculty member. We will hold the reserved equipment for one hour past your reserved time. After the hour has passed, if you still have not picked up the equipment, we will release it for check-out by other users.
The media in our collection is licensed for faculty use only and therefore cannot be checked out by students. However, all AT media from our collection can be viewed at any time in the Library Media Services.
Students wishing to use use the AT broadcast system to show media during in-class presentations or other class activities should notify their instructor in advance so that the faculty member can contact AT and schedule the broadcast. The faculty member must also designate who will drop off and pick up the media from the Media Distribution center. If no one else is designated, only the faculty member is permitted to pick up personal media. Finally, if student comes by the Media Distribution center prior to your class, we can cue the media to a specific, designated point. However, we can only cue the media to a single spot, we cannot jump to different points throughout the media during your class. If it is necessary to jump to different points in the media during the class, we recommend that students ask the faculty to check out one of our media carts.
